Bug Begone!

WooHoo! The bug that slapped the skittles out of me has finally departed *happy dance*. I will get back into the drawing shortly, once I pry myself away from my laptop long enough! I have become engrossed in my writing at the moment so the drawing has sat there neglected. But fear not, there will be more soon.

AND THE WINNER IS!!!!!

Thanks to everyone who voted. Below is the drawing off to the Mario Lemieux Foundation for auction. I will keep you posted with it's amazing journey.

Minor Hiccup

Minor hiccup in drawing at the moment. I have a head cold from hell! So while the thought is there of drawing and posting new pics for all to see, it is extremely difficult to do so when your body is trying to expel your lungs through your teeth! Also when I'm feeling like this the mojo just isn't there and the standard of work just isn't up to scratch, so best to let it be. Please keep voting and I'll keep you updated on that project as we go along. So back to bed for me with tissues, and Penguin in hand, and I'll see you all in a week or so.

The 1st Auction Drawing

So I made an executive decision this morning. Seeing as though it's one of my favourite pictures taken by Jim McIsaac, and the first Pittsburgh Penguin drawing I ever did, I thought it fitting that it should go off to auction. I finished it a little while ago and I think it turned out better than the first one I did. I have an idea as to which other drawing is going, either a Sidney Crosby or Kris Letang, voting is deadlocked so I might just go with my favourite Pen!

Happy Birthday Sidney Crosby

The title says it all, Happy Birthday Siddo! I know it's not one of my drawings, well 1/2 of it is, but I love this picture.

Geno in the Lead

I had a feeling this drawing would be a popular one. Evgeni Malkin 002, was the first drawing I did of a Pens player. I know voting is still open, however I think this one will be going on a journey to the Mario Lemieux Foundation, and then grace some lucky auction winners wall. Starting on this drawing tomorrow, I want to get one out the way before the weekend comes to a close.

Let's Welcome Mario 'The Master' Lemieux to the Blog

Mario Lemieux has joined my family. My drawing family that is. I thought it was time to draw 'The Master', and give the team it's much needed owner. Let's face it, if it wasn't for Mario, the Pittsburgh Penguins would probably be obsolete today.

Hoping to get more drawings done this weekend, though I have some things around the house to get done first. I'm itching to do another Kris Letang drawing, but I may have to start on my auction pictures.

SCORE!!! Artist 1-Scanner 0.

Got around to having it out with my scanner today, Zen moment, but no need for the hammer yet, the threat of using it was enough for it to comply! So go check out the player pages to the right to see the drawings. I must admit they look sooooo much better scanned. Here's a taster, my favourite drawings, Tanger, of course. I have a stack of photos to go through and choose my next drawing, the more I look, the more I find. There is no shortage of material that's for sure. I'm thinking it's time to do one of Mario Lemieux.

Drawings for Auction

I'm very excited. I sent a quick email to the Mario Lemieux Foundation last night to ask if they would be interested in auctioning of my drawings for the charity. I was pleasantly surprised this morning to find a replay email saying they would like them. So now the hard part, which drawings do I send? Below are pictures of the drawings that are in the running to be auctioned, please visit the poll at the right and vote for your favourite 2 drawings.

Evgeni Malkin 001

Maxime Talbot 001

Sidney Crosby 001

Kristopher Letang 001

Evgeni Malkin 002

Kristopher Letang 002

Huge Thanks

Before I forget... which is highly possible as I have a memory like a sieve. I must send out a HUGE THANK YOU to a wonderful photographer, Jim McIsaac. Jim works with Getty Images and takes some of the most interesting ice hockey pictures I have ever seen. All my drawings that have a shadow cast on the ice are drawn from Jim's photos. Thanks Jim.

Back in the Groove

Finally pried myself away from my laptop long enough this weekend to sit and draw. Still haven't had it out with my scanner yet, but that requires me to have a Zen moment and a large hammer on standby! Enjoy our Defense Dynamo, Kris Letang.
