Lost for Words!

Dave Reginek, you sir are awesome!

The photos below are of Pavel Datsyuk of the Detroit Red Wings with the drawing I did for Dave a few months ago. I wasn't expecting him to take it in to show Dats but glad he did. No words can explain how these pics make me feel... overwhelmed for starters!

Quest For The Crown Hockey Fights Cancer Tournament

This weekend will be filled with hockey, and I'm not talking just the playoffs. Donating my time to The Quest For The Crown hockey tournament, with all proceeds going to Hockey Fights Cancer. Meeting up with The Goalie Guild's Justin Goldman last night to drop off the Duchene drawing was awesome. Great to finally meet the man behind the tweets.

The drawing was well received and when I get comments like 'the photos on your site don't do the real thing justice' I get a little stunned. It's one thing to have family and close friends comment on my work, but to have comments like that from total strangers is uplifting, and it inspires me to draw more. It was unfortunate I only had time to get one drawing done, next year however there will be a few more.

Slightly Sidetracked... so not like me... much!

Well I was going to draw another pic for the tourney, I still have time so no drama. Instead I decided to do a drawing for a photographer that takes awesome pics, thanks Dave! He's a Red Wings fan so no Penguins for him, however Datsyuk is one of my faves, so it wasn't all that painful.

1st Drawing for 'The Quest for the Crown'

Well I finally finished it... Still going to try for 3 drawings but I think I'll only get 2 done. Time is being chewed up by unpacking, job hunting, and getting paperwork/leagals done so I can stay in the country, it's a nightmare let me tell you! International moving SUCKS!

Welcome Matt Duchene to the Blog. Here's hoping it fetches a handsome price at silent auction to help Hockey Fights Cancer. Next up is Joe Sakic, and hopefully later Patrick Roy.

And the Winner Is........

Thanks to all who voted for my next drawing/s to head to the Mario Lemieux Foundation. I have decided to do a Double Play, similar to the Letang drawing I just finished for my wall. I have also decided that there will be 3 drawings done and sent:

1st Place - Letang
2nd Place - Fleury
3rd Place - Crosby

They will be done in that order and sent in one package. This is after I have done the 3 drawings for the Quest for the Crown Tourney. I'm going to be a busy girl!

Letang Double

From out of the sketch book and onto loose leaf, this one is to be framed and hung on my wall. Love how it turned out, much better than the original one I did. I will be doing a similar one for the MLF.

3 Drawings for - Quest for the Crown 4 Hockey Tournament

Justin Goldman of The Goalie Guild has announced the dates for the Quest for the Crown 4 Hockey Tournament. It's being held April 28 - May 1 2011 at The Edge, in Littleton, Denver Colorado. It will be raising money for the NHL's Hockey Fights Cancer Foundation.

I have been chatting with Justin for the past 6 months or so, and now that I am actually in Denver I will be able help out and of course draw for the silent auction. I'm aiming for 3 drawings, so we'll see how time goes. Those of you who are Avs fans and live in the Denver area, come down and check it out, it's all for a great cause.

Check out their website for more info: http://thehockeyguild.com/

Tanger

OK I'm Back!

WOW!!! Nothing like and international move to watch 4 months disappear into the sands of time! We made it to Denver, bought a house, and have our shipment from Australia. This also means my drawing supplies are here in my hot little hand and I can finally let the creativity monster loose again. Of course the first drawing I did in my new drawing room was of Letang. I had started it over the Christmas break but got sidetracked, finished it today and there will be a picture of it up shortly. Good to be back drawing, more to follow, stay tuned.
